In short: Heliora is designed to minimize data use. Its core Sun-position, timeline, compass, and AR calculations happen on your device. The developer does not operate a server that collects Heliora usage data, does not include advertising or analytics SDKs, and does not sell personal information.
1. Information and permissions used by Heliora
- Location and heading. With your permission, Heliora requests your location while the app is in use and reads device heading to calculate the local Sun position and align true north. Your current or map-selected coordinates may be saved in the app’s local preferences so the app can restore your last planning location. They are not uploaded to the developer.
- Camera. Camera frames are used only to provide the live AR Sun-path preview. Heliora does not record, save, or upload camera images or video.
- Motion and compass sensors. Device orientation and motion data are processed on the device to align the 3D Compass and AR overlays. They are not uploaded to the developer.
- Local preferences. Settings such as your selected location, time zone, language, and display preferences may be stored locally on your device.
2. Maps and place search
Heliora uses Apple MapKit for maps, place search, and reverse geocoding. Search text, map requests, and location information needed for these features may be processed by Apple under Apple’s own privacy terms. Heliora does not send this information to a developer-operated server.
3. Optional purchases
Optional support tips are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. The developer does not receive your payment card details. Apple may process purchase and transaction information according to its own policies.
4. What Heliora does not do
- No Heliora account is required.
- No advertising, cross-app tracking, analytics SDKs, or third-party tracking SDKs are included.
- The developer does not sell or rent personal information.
- Camera frames, precise location, heading, and motion data are not uploaded to the developer.
5. Retention and your choices
Information saved by Heliora remains on your device until you change the relevant setting or remove the app. You can deny or revoke camera and location access at any time in iOS or iPadOS Settings. Without location access, you can still select a planning position on the map. Without camera access, the live AR preview is unavailable.
6. Services provided by others
Apple Maps, App Store, and StoreKit are provided by Apple and are governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. This policy page is hosted through GitHub Pages; GitHub may process technical data such as IP addresses and request logs under the GitHub Privacy Statement.
7. Children’s privacy
Heliora is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through Heliora.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Heliora’s features or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be revised when an update is published.
